A number of long serving members are due to step down from their roles which they have held for some years . This will happen at our AGM later this year .

As such we seek expressions of interest and invite you to talk to our current office holders to get a sense of the role and what’s involved . And hopefully between all of us we can have the roles filled in our club .

Feel free to engage with

Denis Boland Chair  at +353 (87) 285 1993
Frank Deasy Juvenile Chair at +353 (87) 634 0157
David Murray Secretary at +353 (86) 858 9429
Mary Coffey Child Protection Officer +353 (86) 1727729

Needless to say , there are other areas where our club needs further volunteer input if these roles are not for you. Denis would be happy to discuss those also. And we would love to see more women to lean in .

We have a huge playing population, over 1,600 players, over 70 teams, over 450 parents volunteer to coach teams. We play matches out of 3 home locations (Bushy, Dolphin and VEC), and in winter months we train under lights in a further 6 locations.

The annual running cost of our club is in excess of €250,000, the majority is covered by annual subscriptions, and the balance is covered by football camps, mini All-Irelands profit and various small fundraising ventures (draws, walks, discos, quizzes and cycles etc).

We are active on multiple fronts trying to improve facilities, strategic funding to fund improved facilities, recruit new members and collaborate with schools.

There are volunteers involved in administration of; pitch and facility maintenance, pitch allocations, equipment, subscription management, finances, PR and Social Media, child protection regulations and compliance, player registration, injury schemes, County Board and Croke Park regulations and compliance, coaching improvements,  etc.....the list goes on.

The above list of areas/scope of work is just to give you an idea of the wide range of activities involved in running a GAA club. As TSS grows bigger each year, we could probably do with a little bit more help in most of the areas. We are hoping parents/adult players reading this might see one of the areas that would interest you to volunteer some help.

This is your club, no one else’s, and relies wholly on volunteers to keep the show on the road . And never truer words said than “many hands make light work” .

Lean in . Have a chat with the guys and see if there is some area you could give a little time to help, see what’s for you .
