Hi all,
The Templeogue Synge Street GAA Movie Night Awards takes place in O’Reilly Hall, UCD on Saturday 21st March, and it is shaping up to be a fantastic night for the club.
With over 450 tickets already sold and limited capacity, we are expecting a great atmosphere and would love to see as many club members there as possible. If we sell out the venue, we will beat our targets of raising €150,000 in the fundraising campaign, which would be an outstanding achievement.
It promises to be a great social night for the club, with parents, players, over 100 actors involved, guest judges, a late bar and DJ after the awards.
Thank you to everyone who has already purchased a ticket. If you haven’t secured yours yet, you can do so using the links below:
Make it a Group Night Out
A number of groups are already organising their night out together, with some planning to meet in the Two Sisters or the Terenure Inn beforehand and then head to UCD together on the bus.
With unallocated seating for everybody (including actors) it’s easy to sit with friends or other parents from your team.
Adult Tickets available here:
Student Tickets (50% discount)
We have opened the event to children aged 16+ accompanied by a parent, and a 50% student discount is available here:
If you want to support the event but cannot attend, you can buy a ticket and select "I cannot attend" option on the booking form.
Below are some key details for the evening.
Getting to and from the venue
Alternatively, parking is available in UCD and we understand that parking is free both on the night and over the weekend.
If you plan to drive there and take the bus home, please purchase a ticket in advance. Unfortunately we cannot offer one-way tickets due to how the bus company prices the service.
Dress Code:
Black tie is not required but allowed. We ask that you do not wear t-shirts and/or torn jeans. Anything in between is perfectly fine.
Seating:
Seating will be theatre style and open seating, so it’s easy to sit with friends and family.
Time:
Doors open: 6pm
Movies begin: 7pm sharp
The Movie Ceremony is expected to finish around 10:30 – 11pm, after which there will be a late bar and DJ until 1am.
For those travelling by bus, buses will depart between 1am – 1:15am.
Running Order
Each movie will run for approximately 10 minutes. Our guest judges will share their thoughts and we’ll hear briefly from the cast.
The bar will be open throughout the evening and guests will also have the opportunity to vote for their favourite movie.
The Awards presentation will conclude the formal part of the evening, followed by a DJ.
We hope to see many of you there for what promises to be a brilliant club night.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported the multitude of events that our brilliant actors and producers have ran over the last 5 months, thanks to those who made voluntary donations, thanks to the businesses who sponsored adverts in the program. Thank you to everybody who helped in any way over the last 6 months.
