After another successful Mini All Ireland with the new format weekend version it was great that the weather gods gave us a bit of slack. During the week there were some stressful days wondering would be blown away before we were washed out, but in the end, we were nearly got away with it.
With so much positive feedback it is important to remember that these events don’t just happen and over the past 6 months a number of people put in their time to make the event what it was.
Without question we were so proud to have our sponsors back again this year, the Two Sisters, Park Financial and Capital credit union, whose contribution enables us to do things we want to for the 767!! kids who registered this year.
Thanks too to the ETB (VEC) for the use of the pitches and Darren & Ken for all their help in the facilities.
From the smooth registration and match planning and recording, where Fran, Ian and Ray got things off to a smooth start. Ronan on Social Media. Niall and Keith taking care of pitch logistics in both set up and breakdown. Colin, Frank and their teams taking care of the health and safety and first aid aspects of the event. Sinead who once again did great work on our T-shirts and medals with some new helpers. Dave and Keith, our MCs once again proved they can talk the hind legs off multiple donkeys!
The newer members to the group contributed both enthusiasm and energy to the meetings and the events. This has really made us happy in knowing that this event has a great future as well as a great past. Aileen, Carol, Barbara and Anna were nonstop, before and during the event along with Eoin, David and Ross who were helping with logistics throughout the event. Aoibheann and Catriona were more than willing to put their hands up and shared some great photographs over the couple of days.
Our juvenile members who helped out managing pitches and-giving back to a competition they grew up on and our referees who kept the spirit of the competition going right till the end despite the one torrential downpour we did suffer.
Once again, we had volunteers with no children involved in the tournament but still put their hands up. Ryno and Conan on photography meant we have some great footage to remember the event by.
Our caterers were on top form thanks to Warren for ensuring everyone was fed and watered accordingly.
Last but by no means least a huge thank you to Aoife and Deirdre, without whom this would have not happened. It has been brilliant to get more new people involved who could tap into the experience that has been gained over the previous years. It’s fantastic that they can reflect on the effort put in with such positive feedback and obvious joy among the participants, making some of the sleep deprived nights worth it.
TSS is a great club to be involved in and there are so many ways people can do that. Your kids will benefit hugely form your engagement and we would really like to see as many new faces as possible getting involved. When the calls went out for help the response has been so good and its important for all to remember it’s your kids club and your club too.
